Presenting some special Meissen dials for Malaysia's 50th Anniversary

Aug 25, 2007,09:42 AM

My thanks to Royz, GO Boutique Manager in Starhill, Kuala Lumpur, for graciously allowing me to photograph these special Senators with porcelain Meissen dials depicting old style maps of Malaysia/Malaya to commemorate the 50th anniversary of our country's independence. It is interesting to note the differences in all the pieces in their map details making each piece truly unique.

There are 5 pieces of each; Platinum, Pink Gold, White Gold, Pink Gold with diamonds and White Gold with diamonds.

Hmm . . . I wonder why the rose gold versions . . .

. . . have less colorful dials than the white metal versions . . . is it to tone down the appearance? In any event, these porcelain masterpieces are tastefully done - not blingy at all, even with a jewel encrusted bezel. Thanks, K T! Cordially, Art

In this case, I prefer the monochrome version ...

... which leaves the impression of an old, already yellowed map. Additionally, the colours distract a little from the wonderfully finished hands. Overall, though, this is a marvelous edition!! Regards, Marcus

I love this watch! I've been smitten by the gold Karee, with sweep second hand and date. If I had to buy a (3rd) GO, that would be the one. Congratulations and enjoy. DB

having seen this...
