Who wants to see through? (the new Master 8 Days Perpetual skeleton)

May 30, 2007,15:31 PM

We don't get new calibers for each new watch unfortunately, but some new iterations are still worthy of great interest !

If you're fond of geography you may be interested in this planisphere inspired watch!

A ruthenium finished planisphere with a balance wheel as a pole may also interest some watch nuts.

Master 8 Days Perpetual Skeleton

A tradition-respectful watch with a touch of contemporary design, and who could believe there are only 260 parts here?

Obviously not as readable as a Reverso Grande Date, that's only for people in the know !

No heat blued screws or any other bits here, aimed at design coherency.

I've always seen perpetuals as the most appealing skeletons !

This is definitely a watch to look at for a few hundred years. If you want a new toy try the Duometre instead, but if you're looking for a very serious point of view on the passing time….

This is really a back plate no?

This is the standard 41.5mm case, only offered in platinum in a limited series of 100 pieces.

Don't try to stop it

Water resistant to 50 meters, this may be the perfect watch for the beach if your Diving GMT is not delivered in time.

Did you like it ?

a great watch. I had the chance to see it in the flesh while I was in Geneva... And this watch remembers me ,esthetically speaking,of course ,this one: Another way to see or hear the time!...

Thanks a lot....

Hi Amanico, Thanks a lot for your comment about my lousy pics (I feel I have to improve on that). I share your point about the Master RM: same overall style, and equally intriguing. But the RM is a funnier toy IMVHO. They would form a nice pair. Cheers Dj...

don't be so modest Jerome, those pics were great

and that is certainly a wonderful watch,,,,it was my pleasure to see it in person at the Geneve show. There are many lines connecting between all the contemporary "technical" designs (AMVOX, LAB, etc.) and it really looks like the same hand paints them al...

it must be the nicest "DIVING-minute repeater " around ;-) cheers christian

The look is definitely more Richard Mille than anything else

Thanks for the nice review and pictures. Although it is a nice watch, the skeleton design, similar to RM, is a little too business-like. I would have preferred a look that's inline with offerings from Breguet or VC, little more romantic with hand engravin...

This is very much a matter of taste...

Hi Loujo, Thanks for you comments. As for the style of skeletonizing it is pretty much a matter of taste and even if I very much respect your choice (and VC and Breguet work), I actually prefer this cleaner style of (some absence of) decoration. We alread...

You are absolutely right

Hi Jerome: you are absolutely right. it is a matter of taste. And yes, when I said it looked lik RM, I meant the comtemporary style. Cheers, John.

The best part of the watch, for me. Unfortunately, when I recently had the chance to handle the watch, I found it almost impossible to tell the time ... Dirk

Very industrial, modern look

A departure from the relative classicism of the other JLC watches. I quite like the look of the watch, but it seems incongruous with the JLC name. Soon JLC will be all things to all people, if that is even possible. - SJX
