So is this a fashion watch or have I elevated to the next level in horology appreciation?

I recently acquired this Cartier Basculante.  Guess not even Cartier fans appreciate it as this line is already discontinued by Cartier.  Too bad because it is really a wonderful watch.  Not only is the case and dial beautifully executed, its heart is made of a truly great movement , F. Piguet 6.10 manual wind, the same movement that is also ticking inside of VC 1972. 

But at end of the day, I really don't care what you watch snobs say, because my watch can do this.  Can yours? smile

Is it to engrave the back? I like the dial and style, just curious as to why.
