The 2007 IWC Da Vinci range - Opinions?

Apr 03, 2007,07:10 AM

The revamped Da Vinci range has aroused strong, polarised reactions. Some have likened it to a Maurice Lacroix, others hail it as a handsome, contemporary design. Regardless of what you think of the 2007 range, the classic Da Vinci was never a bestseller for IWC, and I suspect this redesigned model will sell a lot better.

For me personally, my thoughts on the new Da Vinci are much the same as those regarding a few of the current IWC designs. No doubt the technical achievements are worthy of note and the quality of IWC watches is still as good as ever, BUT somehow the designs don't sit well with me - the new Da Vinci is no exception. I have yet to see the 200 Da Vinci in person, so I may end up being pleasantly surprised at SIHH.

What do you think of the 2007 Da Vinci?

This perpetual calendar will run for 100 years without adjustment, and amazingly enough Kurt Klaus been with the company for half that time. As far as I know this is the first time a living watchmaker has been honoured by a major brand. This perpetual cal...
