New Breguet 4746 Silicium images

Feb 14, 2007,09:23 AM

Hi Everyone,

I was able to get a chance recently to photograph a brand new Breguet 4746 that features a silicium gear and a new designed balance wheel.

I have concerns about the spread of the use of silicium due to its potential of destroying the romanticism of hand made parts and hand finishing of traditional timepieces - if such silicon based/manufactured parts become widespread.

Nevertheless, the Breguet here that feature this new part has an interesting purple tinge - may prove to be popular with collectors. Hope you like the images.

Cheers!

Despite the widespread publicity and press coverage of silicium, there have been few photos of the watch. - SJX

Even if one dislikes the silicium, the wonderful dial design should more than compensate .
