Hi Graham,
I too have quitely been thinking about this over and over, although I am not in a strong position to say that it a 100% STT Tourbillon, I must admit by comparing pictures it does have some resemblance. Then I thought about it again, now what is wrong with STT? Althgouh a lot of collectors may prefer the 'real' tourbillon, but are they really completely different, between STT and other Tourbillon? Then I thought about it even more and decide to do my little research, it turns out that according to some friends of mine they really dont have a problem with a watch having a STT Tourbillon.
I completely understand if you are surprised by the choise of this sort of Tourbillon, actually so was I, but then there are also some awesome watches that does not use an in-house mouvement, but rather a heavily modified one. See the parallel? So I am sure that if this is a STT tourbillon I am sure that eveything about it in some way or another has been tweaked, modified or heavily adjusted by the good people of HWRT and Peter Speake-Marin.
All in all thanks for pointing it out in the first place, and no you dont need to apologize if your post seemed a little strong. Have a good day! Do wait for the Opus 5, it will be different!
Regards,
Aseanto Oudang.
