Two Rolex Submariners 5508 at each extremity of the Spectrum.

Extremely patinated?

Or extremely mint?

Of course there are a lot of examples which are in between these 2 extremities, but I must say that each of them has its charm.

The " patinated " one has a lot of charm and warmth, the mint is colder but its condition is not something you see everyday.

What is your preference?

Best,

Nicolas

I\'d rather cause my own patina to a watch. So the story is mine and not someone else.

Mint! [nt]

Aged if I had it from new or inherited, say from a close family member.

This is a tough call

I am fascinated by these old grannies which we come across sometimes (very very) rarely and that do not show thier age. It is a bit confusing how they managed to go through time with no wrinkles or scars at all. My mission is then to take very good care o...

Patina specimen makes this watch talk a lot of stories to me...

... not to say that the mint one is not a very interesting option. I love this type of dilemmas... though it is not very easy to reach the right answer! Of course, "Both" is the best answer when confronting these issues!! Lol! Thanks for sharing these bea...

They are two different watches.

But if you find a perfect one like the second with a color change dial with all the index markers in bright gold then you have a challenger to the perfect Black dial. There is a lot of charm in the Patina dial but a color change - like your 6542 is specia...

I like the mint one

No message body ...

No haha . But the interesting detail is that the gilt dial on the 5508 was only produced in 1962 , i discovered in rolex literature ... [nt]

If I remember correct this exact dial set up only was made in 1962. Any other year is not a match.

The new owner is from Singapore , and had deliver it personally to him by plane from Argentina.
