Rolex Service Center in San Francisco

Perspective: The oscillation of the balance wheel rim in a Rolex wristwatch travels over 20,000 miles over a five-year period.

Rolex, even the world's most robust watch requires maintenance approximately every five years. Most individuals who own a Rolex can drop off their watch at a Rolex Authorized Dealer who will liaise the watch to the Rolex Service Center. However, individuals who live in the San Francisco Bay Area have an alternative; they can visit the independently owned Rolex Service Center in downtown San Francisco.

Located in the fashionable Union Square shopping district in San Francisco, it is convenient to both city-dwellers and suburbanites; the service center is within five minutes walking distance from the BART Montgomery Street Train Station.

Upon my entrance to the Rolex Service Center in downtown San Francisco; I was immediately greeted by the proprietor who evaluated the condition of the timepiece and assessed the required servicing. He provided a concise but thorough dialogue about the timepiece and informed me of the servicing details. I signed the paperwork and confidently left the timepiece in the capable hands of the Rolex Service Center.

After I left, the watch was assigned to one of the master watchmakers on staff at the Rolex Service Center. The master watchmaker will dismantle, clean, scrutinize and replace parts, reassemble the movement, and regulate the movement entirely on his own. After the movement is reunited with a hand polished case, the entire case is pressure-tested to ensure water-proofing to the indicated depth.

The San Francisco Rolex Service Center has been in business in its present location for over forty years. It is one of the few remaining independently owned and operated Rolex Service Centers in the Rolex Service Network. Even some minor jobs can be performed quickly while one waits and the staff is always keen to provide answers about historical Rolex wristwatches, specific bracelet questions, and more. Having this level of expertise and being able to converse with the actual watchmaker is truly an impressive resource for the fortunate individuals who reside in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Normally there's a 6-8 week wait time to get your watch back. Right now it's a 4-5 week wait time!
