Not something I would pick, but....

Jul 24, 2017,19:17 PM

I actually find this very attractive and nice. Received this from my employer after 20 years of slogging. I have to say, they were nice in picking this one out. Second day on the wrist and I'll say I'm very pleasantly surprised at how this looks and wears. The blue is just awesome, and the feel on the wrist, without the date, the heft and comfort....not something I expected. Strangely, I've never found this particular model appealing all these years, and this is now teaching me about being prejudicial and how that causes me to miss out on some great things. Simple and timeless.

Very nice...36mm, correct?

Rolex excels at: Simple (yet all the essentials are present) Reliable (the most reliable manufacture, bar none) Durable (engineered to live almost forever) Iconic (with the Oyster bracelet) and this particular one is beautiful (with the blue dial). Cheers...

Yes, 36mm....a sweet size!

You've also summed up the watch and the brand well.

Huge congrats!

Surely not extravagant but a classic and timeless beauty. This deep blue dial pops and gives it quite some life. Enjoy it and wear it in good health ! Mike

A great gift!

Much better than "We are down-sizing and you have been eliminated, pack up your desk!" or "Here is a desk clock, battery-operated. Because you traveled a lot for us, it's a world clock. Hope you like it ..." Enjoy the Rolex - it's a beauty. Cheers, Cazale...

;-) Thankfully those feet and and shoes are not mine

You're right though...in the current trends of downsizing, this is a nice recognition.

Nobody mentioned yet that it has NO DATE

That makes it a true PuristS watch. Cazalea

HAHAHA!!! I noticed the shoes too!

The blue also gives very different dynamics depending on the lighting.

Thanks, my friend. This is actually my third Rolex....

 By: rnaden : July 25th, 2017-03:41
the other two being the Exp II (16570) and the no date sub which I recently sold....but this one has the most captivating dial, I would say.

So happy for you my friend...

on your 20 years of service! I completed my 25 years of service a month ago and unfortunately did not even receive a Rolex catalogue from my employer! I think as voiced by many, your employer has good tastes. I am not a Rolex man myself but the blue dial ...

Bigger congrats to you on both long service and retirement

 By: rnaden : July 26th, 2017-19:11
Best of two in one. As for e Rolex, it certainly feels built to last, and while I wasn't a fan of this particular model, I am fast becoming a convert.

Thank you!

As for another 20 years - I'd be retired before the 20 years are up, and am looking forward to that ;-)
