A new orange colour decision for the RM50-03 Split-Second Tourbillon Chronographe McLaren F1

Feb 09, 2017,08:35 AM

Following the presentation during the SIHH 2017 of the new RM50-03 prototype made in collaboration with McLaren F1, the brand has fixed the definitive choice color for the reference. You'll see they changed the red accents to orange on the strap, crown and flange.

I liked it all red but it seems that the McLaren F1 car will be orange for the 2017 season, thus this evolution.

before it was only engraved on the back but they added that touch, maybe to underline the stunning movement and work they performed, I don't know. It is funny that it doesn't bother me here, though it would have if printed instead... Thanks Raymond Best, ...

Interesting strap [nt]

Well, this is a new material as I understand it is not like your Kevlar version

I imagine smoother and lighter, though I think I prefer the kevlar's shape maybe. To be seen in the real. Tell us if you can see it Best, Mark

Yes indeed and it seems as though it's using something similar to the underwear band

I just think all red accents on buttons (text) and on dial need to be Changed to orange. I will not get to see this piece in person but would love to hear what people thought of it up close? Ultimate racing machine

I noticed that there are red elements left

and thought first that they would have replaced all the red colors by the orange. To be seen live to see how both colours work together. Indeed a great machine this RM McLaren
