Something unusual...3615

May 29, 2017,18:10 PM

Good afternoon all,

As you may have seen I was finally reunited with my collection of watch books after a prolonged move. I was flipping through Wristwatches by Kahlert and came across these photos of the 3615. It's such a rare beast, with almost no Google image results, that I thought I'd share these quick iPhone scans of the movement. The extent of the black polish is truly exceptional. What a watch!!

Full credit due to the authors Kahlert, Mühe, and Brunner.

Enjoy!

Cheers,

Brandon

What a beauty too! The chronograph and chiming mechanisms are particularly beautiful

Thank you for these lovely pictures of such amazing mouvements. I have a book called "Mouvement" from Guido Mocafico (Steidl Edition) which is really nice too. A quick shot of the cover sheet. Best wishes Alkiro ...

I was lost after 22 :-)

That's indeed quite a different model from what we are used to seeing

Very nice and interesting reference. There are quite a number of models that are not well known but which deserve attention, thanks for bringing this one here Brandon Patek is admired and famous for a reason and this model you're sharing is part of it. Be...

Of course!

I think it's amazing to think about the market forces at the time of this creation. To my knowledge, no other brand was making watches like this in the 80s. Glad you enjoyed! Brandon
