Not 5960? [nt]

 By: TheMadDruid : July 26th, 2017-12:53

I do not count 5960 as a plain AC.

 By: dr.kol : July 26th, 2017-14:26
It's first a chronograph and secondly an AC. Best, Kari

Have a great, safe trip, Chimaera.

You certainly have nice watch along for the ride.

Many thanks all.

Lightning visit to Mumbai - probably won't bother adjusting the 5146p at all.

As I can see, you're a "crown down" guy 😁

Travel safe. Best wishes Alkiro

Too bad, huh?

Crown up gets a kiss from Pia. I guess you'll have to keep her to yourself.

Enjoy your travels. Keep safe. Wonderful ac.

almost looks like perpetual, I had to look twice. Have nice and safe trip . PS. I never rest my watch on a crown, it does not make sense. Best Regards Edward

Patek Geneva recommended me to place the watch always crown down!

 By: dr.kol : July 26th, 2017-15:48
Why? Simple: When the watch is serviced, it's a standard procedure to change the crown. By resting it crown down, you can avoid extra polishing. Makes sense? Best, Kari

That's what they said.

 By: dr.kol : July 26th, 2017-16:45
And to keep the watch crown down was a very strong recommendation. Best, Kari

Yup, absolutely right.

By resting the watch on the crown the case cannot get scratches or other traces of wear. Also my PP AD informed me to do so. And, if I remember correctly, some time ago it was mentioned in the PP magazine. I rest all my watches like that when they are awa...

Interesting, assuming that they Always know what they are talking about , you should follow their advice.....

I personally think that resting on the crown is " asking for it" what if you only "once" forget to screw the crown and bent the pinion will you hold them responsible? restin crown up does not scratch the watch. Best Regards Kari, Edward

This advice makes a lot of sense.

 By: dr.kol : July 27th, 2017-02:30
Patek has serviced about 20 of my watches and in each and every case the crown has been changed. Now, why on earth would you forget the crown up? Best, Kari

Yes Dr. Kol, I agree that when the crown is all the way in, it makes sense.....

 By: watercolors : July 27th, 2017-03:20
but did you never forget to lock your car? Things happen some time for unexplained reason. All the best and have a beautiful weekend. Best Edward

I do not need to lock my car. My homes are in Estonia & Finland.

Seriously: my automatic watches are in winders and they normally are keeping time well - so no opening the crown. With manual watches I normally give first some 10 rounds, then adjust the time and finally wind the watch to the end. So no space for mistake...

Safe trip

I guess the 3940G should be jealous from the seat number. Best, Ahmed

Two details I like a lot and that are in common with the 5960

The hands and the markers. Something that I like in my watches is when they have functions that I find usefull, like the PR indicator and a AC or PC (and auto :p ). This is a beauty and it indeed deserves a "A" sit Have a nice travel Chim. Best, Mark

Agreed!

Is apparently from days of sea travel from U.K. To the jewel of empire, India: Port Out, Starboard Home. So it is 1A on the plane there, and 1K for the way back. In Patek terms, crown down on the way crown up on the way back. Thanks all for your kind comm...
