Breguet numerals

Hello all,


May I ask if anyone is able to explain the significance of the use of Breguet numerals in Patek Philippe watches, please? I understand that these have traditionally been reserved for Grand Complication pieces, but are now more widely used, though perhaps only for anniversary pieces,

Well, as other many style elements of a watch (hands, markers, numerals' shapes), it is a question of diversity and the pleasure of the moment: it can be just for change, just because some, like Breguet, are less "dressy" or more decorative etc... So, as ... 

I love Brequet numerals....

Breguet numerals were spotted on various Calatravas in the 90s like the 3820, 4860 and 5022, not to mention the 150th anniversary limited edition 3960. More recently, the 'ladies' calatrava 7200R (I wear one on these hence the open and close inverted comm...
