Hi, Mine was bright enough to read this morning - though it takes a while to "resolve" which hand each of the blobs of glowing light represents! The alarm time does not know between AM and PM, but you will have "probably" cancelled the alarm, by pressing the button at 8, when it rang in the morning.

The extraordinary imagination and passion that JLC has, and captures into its watches (and clocks!) is what has me always say that the brand I most "get" is JLC.
