Patek Philippe: PP makes overhyped mass market products but a few gems too

PP has maybe the best marketing department. The way they advertise is remarkable. Apart from usual means of AD they don’t bother to bid on auctions and inflate prices. Patek Philippe: Lemania is nice but quite wide spread. Similar movement is in Omega (1863). Yes, Omega has inferior finishes. 5070 for 200000 is ridiculous. Even its retail is blown up.

5170 is better. But still is a poor value for money proposition. 5270 is better than 5170. The only Patek movement worth considering is 27-525 that can be found in 5959.

Patek Philippe: I doubt it but I can be wrong

As far as I know PP makes 50-60 thousand watches a year while having several hundred watchmakers. That’s why I suppose none to little is done by hand. Still it is a nice watch
