Jaeger-LeCoultre: A beautiful pair of watches.....

....I have commented before that a date is the most useful complication, and a big date is special. I really think a Grande Reverso in steel with a big date like the Lange would be a winner as an office watch . Not that I'd be unhappy with either of these!

Jaeger-LeCoultre: Beautiful watches...

...and I would be happy with any one of them! I like the warmth of the 1907 compared to the Jubilee (at least it looks a warm rose gold in the first picture, although more of a yellow gold in later pictures). I love the idea of the enamel dial, but agree with those who prefer it without the writing.

Jaeger-LeCoultre: Indeed....

..but they still have the alpha hands and big cases which have been dropped with such good results in the MC. The 8 day I was talking about is a the Master 8- days which seems to have been discontinued, not the Perpetual Calendar. Is there any chance that it might be brought back in an updated versi

Jaeger-LeCoultre: Master series question....

I commented a while ago that I thought that the current Master Control was one of the best- looking watches in the Master series. It seems that I am not alone in that view. I think the salient points of the makeover to the MC and the Master Calendar are the use of nicely- proportioned dauphine hands

Jaeger-LeCoultre: Thank you.....

Oddly - since it is JLC's entry level watch - I think the Master Control date is one of the nicest of JLC designs at the moment. All the points Ifind wrong with this watch are right in the MC. Aren't I fortunate to havesuch taste!

Jaeger-LeCoultre: Call me picky but...

….there a some things here that I just don't get. First, I think 40mm is too big for a simple watch face. There is just too much blank space. I had hoped that JLC were returning to more elegant and wearable sizes. Second, I don't think that the blue seconds hand looks right on a gold watch. With a w

Jaeger-LeCoultre: To be honest….

….I find it too big and thick - the case is similar to my Rolex Explorer 2 which is a sports watch. I know that the current taste is for big watches but I think it has lost the elegance of the 37mm version. I just find the "big date" and an 8-day movement are both interesting and attractive features

Jaeger-LeCoultre: Not exactly secret dreams but...

A Reverso ultra-thin with a "big date". In the MC models, a return to slightly smaller and more elegant cases, and more use of the dauphine hands. I think JLC finally got the hands right on the new MC Date. Let's have more! I love both a big date and an 8-day movement as interesting and practical fe
