It's like in the classic car scene: every car is promoted as rare, unique, etc, etc... What means rare, if you have a million rare items to choose from?
My opinion is that maintanance on a watch is grossly overrated. First, I hardly see any one complaining that their watch isn't running anymore after 20 years or so. (if it wasn't serviced). I have two mechanical watches which have never been serviced, the oldest now almost 50 years old. Runs perfect

Unbelievable that a thread like "Is Patek inextricably linked to value considerations?" has been locked. It showed fair and open meanings... Hard to tell... but of course there will be a buyer out there, you only need one... It's like in the classice car scene: also the less desirable cars will be sold, if the price it right in the end... But not by the ones in to the knowledge.... This message has been edited by Expat on 2011-06-07 14:1
