TimeCrafters NYC 2016 watch expo - May 13-15, 2016

TimeCrafters , America’s premiere watch expo for consumers, will present rare and one-of-a-kind timepieces from 18 of the world’s most renowned watch companies. Audemars Piguet’s chiming SuperSonnerie and Vacheron Constantin’s Reference 57620 timepiece—the world’s most complicated-­along with a Tiffany and Co. archival watch exhibit with America’s first stopwatch, are just three of many remarkable examples of watch making ingenuity and manufacture that will be on display for three days starting Friday, May 13 through Sunday, May 15 at the Park Avenue Armory.

 

TIMECRAFTERS 4TH EDITION BRINGS THE YEAR’S BEST WATCHES FROM 18 WORLD CLASS WATCH COMPANIES PLUS UNIQUE, INTERACTIVE EXHIBITS TO NEW YORK’S PARK AVENUE ARMORY, MAY 12-15

 

Cutting edge interactive exhibits such as Hublot’s Ferrari F1 simulator and TAG Heuer’s Indy 500 show car will enthrall visitors, while daily panel discussions by will explain the ins and outs of collecting watches and Christie’s Auction House will provide free valuations of vintage watches.

 

Actor Patrick Dempsey, former football quarterback-turned-TV-morning-show-host Michael Strahan and Buffalo Bills star quarterback Tyrod Taylor, along with other luminaries and watch company ambassadors, will kick off the opening of TimeCrafters at a cocktail party on Thursday evening, May 12th.

 

TimeCrafters is the only expo of its kind for watch enthusiasts, connoisseurs and collectors and is devoted to showcasing horological masterpieces which in some instances are available by special order and take years to make.

 

Highlights of the show include:

  • Vacheron Constantin’s Reference 57620, the world’s most complex watch with 57 complications that took three watchmakers eight years to manufacture, and its Chronogram exhibit.

  • TAG Heuer’s exhibit of 100 years of watchmaking innovation plus its Indy 500 show car.

  • Hublot’s Ferrari F1 simulator with a full immersion driving experience.

  • Tiffany and Co.’s exhibit “The Making of the New York Minute: Timepieces from the Tiffany & Co. Archives” includes the original Tiffany & Co. gold wristwatch given to U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt for his birthday.

  • Audemars Piguet’s Royal Oak Concept SuperSonnerie, a visionary chiming watch.

“Our objective is to educate newcomers to the watch world, while attracting watch enthusiasts and passionate collectors with a range of ultra complex timepieces,” explained Isabelle Boudringhin, co-founder of TimeCrafters. “TimeCrafters is the only luxury watch show for consumers in the US that showcases the highest quality of craftsmanship from the watch industry’s most iconic brands and brings watch enthusiasts together to share and learn about the industry,” added Boudringhin.

 

TimeCrafters was founded in 2011 to give US watch enthusiasts and collectors an opportunity to learn about the craftsmanship of the best timepieces through the only large-­scale public watch event in the US. The show opens to the public Friday, May 13 through Sunday, May 15, 11:00am to 6:00pm daily. A reservations-­only watchmaking workshop ($420 per person) with master watchmakers will be offered by Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH), which promotes fine watchmaking around the world.
