Oh my! I'm entering on a "rusty" phase? Omega Seamaster Chronostop Regatta ...

Team,

This one just pop on my radar and I on an impulse, grabbed it.

It's a Omega Chronostop Regatta (145.008) and is on reasonable shape, far from being NOS, but is usable and it had been maintained by my favorite watchmaker.

The Chronostop line was released in 1966 and, as far I could determine, around 125.000 were produced.

This Regatta, with a rotating bezel controlled by a crown at 10, was initially released as a diver watch and later, with a different shape, as a driver watch.

Some pictures from this weird holiday Monday.

Rusty but beautiful.

The case shape. I notice, taking those pictures, a mark on the lug that may indicate Portugal customs.

The case back.

As we can see from the pictures, this watch was USED and has all marks of its previous life, meaning history.

Not bad for a watch 50 years old.

Since the movement received a full maintenance, is fantastic accurate.

The movement is Lemania based and is called Omega 865. Strong an durable.

Thanks for seeing.

Cheers,

Nilo

Hi Looks pretty good to me. I've been getting distracted by Chronostops for a while now, especially since getting my Memomatic. The shop had a number in & their quirkyness, got me interested. Enjoy wearing it Cheers JML

Memomatic are nice but...

My watchmaker told me that they are a pain to maintain, because of the complexity of the power train. Cheers, Nilo

Fortunately mine had just come back from Omega

So can relax about that for a bit . Was encouraging on two point - that they still serviced them & also still had parts. Cheers JML

Stylish watch....

....I do like these late 60’s/early 70’s omega watches. I have the Geneve chronostop and the Geneve dynamic, I’m also on the lookout for a seamaster chronostop. Hopefully I’ll be joining the club in the not too distant future. A nice find, congrats. ...

Thanks ...

The Seamaster Chronostop, like mine, is not hard to find. Good luck. Nilo
