Everything can be discussed in a polite way, Pistol Pete.

You ask a good question, which comes over the only Speedmaster: " Is a toolwatch still a toolwatch if it receives some sophistications ".

You gave your point of view in a well argumented way, BUT, to me, it was useless to say what you said about Chuck Maddox.

If only there would be more Mr Maddox in this world...

So, yes we can discuss about everything and we don't need to agree on all ( or on anything, that is the richness of our Foras ), but please, bashing anyone is not fair, nor useful, and to say all, a bit rough.

Please keep it in mind for the future, it will be perfect.

Best,

In Defense of Omega 3313 Movement: Amazing Accuracy

 By: markieesq : May 8th, 2010-14:05
Greetings: I recently purchased the Co-axial Enamel Speedmaster. I also own a Speedy from 1972, my very first watch which is very dear to me. I was very reluctant to purchase this watch. I had read all the negative press about this movement. I read what t...

Firstly congratulations on owning such a marvelous watch as the Datograph. I also congratulate you on owning a beautiful enamel 3313 Speedmaster and sharing with us some of it's great qualities. In fact, a tuned caliber 3313 is deadly. Indeed, my wife's 3...

I Was Not Apologizing For The Enamel

 By: markieesq : May 9th, 2010-09:33
Pete: Thanks for your thoughtful response to my post. My 1972 Speedy is the 861 which is (IMHO) a down-grade from the 321. Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion about what make the Speedy a "Professional". That is what makes these forums so...

thanks Mark,

It was the sentence,'Of course the purists here can debate whether the enamel should be called a Speedmaster, etc' that made me feel that you were needlessly defensive and apologetic about your Speedmaster. I know and you know that you never uttered the w...

I am quite shocked and saddened to see such an angry opinion against Chuck. "Bloody mindedness over the course of a lifetime?" Come on... He doesn't deserve this. To disagree with Chuck or anyone is one thing. We all have the right to our own opinion and ...

In defence of the living

I couldn't agree more that banning is justified when disagreements become personal attacks against members. I think you need to be reminded that Maddox is neither a member or a person any more. I find your entire post to be on the level of this blunder. I...

Pete you have no defence.....

Hi Pete, disregard the content and topic - I do not like your style... Either you try to write and argue in a style where nobody must feel offended - otherwise it would be better to stay away from this forum! There are other fora... maybe they like your r...

... I think it is in the best interest of the forum for me to keep my silence. I have no intention of provoking you and I am sorry if anything I said caused you this much anger. Peace. Ruckdee

It is almost spot on indeed. And, yes, many people (myself included) tend to refer to the reviews and/or the opinions originated from the time this family of movements was still in its glitchy infancy stage. Ruckdee

Thank You Ruckdee

With all the side issues involved with this thread, my original post somehow got lost. I thank you for your kind words. It's a nice feeling to put on a watch and really enjoy wearing it. And the nice thing is that people can get that enjoyment at price po...

I know exactly what you mean. There is a local forum in my language that I frequent. All the members would discuss anything from a Seiko to a Philippe Dufour and beyond. The only problem seems to be that one watch is never enough. Not with all those stimu...
