Almost . . .

. . . a legend.

Yup, it's a cal 30 . . .

. . . although not from the initial run of six hundred movements, ca '39.

Miki J has commented a few times about the camaraderie of our tight-knit Omega collectors community.  Well, I've had two recent occasions to dwell on our special group of aficionados.

Last week, I received an rg staff from Bill Sohne, our previous forum moderator and vintage Omega expert.  As many of you are aware, finding any rg parts is akin to searching for a needle in a haystack; Bill offered to share a staff that would've been impossible to find anywhere.  Thanks ever so much, Bill.

Two weeks ago, yours truly was in Zagreb hanging out with Damjan, padj . . .

. . . and KMII.  K left us Sunday morning, but the Nairobi, er, Zagreb trio slurped a few more gallons Sunday evening before I had to take off.  (Padj was able to stick it out for another day; I wonder if his liver's holding up!)

Well, while I was gone, my pal and fellow local Omega collector Bill H scored, on his own recognizance, the cal 30 pictured above for me, knowing I'd want to have it.

That's friendship.

A few parting shots . . .

. . . of my first cal 30, entirely due to Bill H's diligence and thoughtfulness.

and indeed, the friendship of the community is second to none. Great shot in Zagreb CC

That gesture, of my hand reaching into a pocket . . .

. . . was my blomman impersonation. "Oh, you've never seen one of those? Well, here's two of mine!"

You must have taught them the bottoms up photography technique...

That would make anyone grateful for life 😉 On a more serious note, the point you make is supremely important - the people behind the avatars and user names seem universally courteous, extremely helpful and a great bunch to spend time with. Which helps eno...

Man, I hope my hearing recovers in time . . .

. . . for a fall rendezvous! Six flights in five days, and my ears haven't stopped ringing since. Seriously, I've gotta see an otologist if this keeps up. On the plus side, I can legitimately claim not to hear what my girlfriend's saying.

ROFL

All i can say is that my three year old has an otoscope, lots of practice in using it (and naming it) and that we will have anaesthetics (old school kind) aplenty 👍🏻🥃

God do we look serious.

Or drunk? It was great fun, and a shame KMII couldn't stick around another day. Oh...my liver is fine. I think.

The secret's out - we . . .
