Montlblanc Rieussec Manual Chronograph.

We can seriously state that the Rieussec is an icon, for Montblanc. The kind of watch which has such a strong identity that you can easily and quickly recognize it.

The manual winding version is the most appealing, for me.

For once, I am not disturbed by the date, which is integrated to the dial in an harmonious way.

Did you also notice the power reserve, located in the back,

The movement is interesting and appealing to see.

Outside the Villeret collection, this is a Montblanc watch I like a lot.

Along with the Orbis Terrarum.

Ok, my heart is taken by the Villeret collection, but still...

Best,

Nicolas

The only Rieussec I'm looking for (and I'll own one day as I missed one recently). Quite rare as it's the only reference with a manual winding if I'm right

Despite its size (43mm is a little bit too big for me) I want one. Thanks for the shots (and the reminder!) Best wishes Alkiro

Indeed! [nt]

Another manual Winding

there is another reference wich is the open Ref N° 104981. I've got one, that has to go back again to MB because of a power reserve problem, and it last since 5 months... there are waiting for a spare part.

Please, don't call me "greedy" ...

I saw it on one of the local Montblanc boutiques, the year was ending and I made a low ball offer. They, after few days, accepted and I could not back off. Not my favorite one, but is a fine watch. Cheers, Nilo ...

No. Not now.

... Are engraved on the topside arc of the backside bezel. That's kind of a cool move. Is the movement from Minerva? - Scott

Do you know what MontBlanc Le Locle means?

 By: eklektik : April 7th, 2017-11:57
Hello Nicolas, Does that mean a proper company with design and manufacturing? How many people in this case? I look forward to seeing what will become MontBlanc mechanical watchmaking after the release of their iWatch. Thanks in advance for your answers. A...

I've heard the same rumor.

Like the Rieussec a lot and the hand wound model is definitely special. Great pictures, btw.

Let's see :) [nt]

My NR is still my first love of all my Montblanc watches that I have.

 By: Todd B. : March 8th, 2017-09:18
It's the one that I get the most pleasure out of wearing. WHile I love my Greytech Timewalker, the NR was my first jump into fine swiss watchmaking so, by default, is that one true love that you can never get over.

Well said, Todd. [nt]

Montblanc is phasing the Nicolas Rieussec line out

I believe it's already happened.

On WUS, a poster's wife works for a boutique in Hawaii I believe, and he said she said (lol i know...) that boutiques were instructed to ship their remaining stock to outlet locations (honestly didn't know Montblanc had outlet locations!).

I've been to one

We have Montblanc outlet in Cabazon California. It's not a bad set up however, you definitely have to inspect your pieces carefully as everything they care is at least a few years old and stuff that has been handled a lot at the boutique level. There was ...

Thanks for the info!

I guess brands like Burberry have outlet locations too so I can see why Montblanc has locations, probably a remnant of the old days where they only carried pens and accessories. Is there wiggle room on the pricing, or not really?

I'm not sure but the prices are really good.

 By: Todd B. : April 10th, 2017-06:38
Not sure in terms of negotiating like you can at a traditional jewelry store however the items are marked at 40-50% off. So, for example, my NR cost me 11,000 US dollars brand new from a MB boutique. They have the same one I bought for 6,000 US dollars. S...

Thanks!

Thanks for giving me an idea on pricing. Too bad there's not an outlet location for me, then again maybe it's a good thing otherwise I'd be hitting it up all the time.
