Jaeger Lecoultre Gyrotourbillon 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Mar 27, 2017,12:25 PM

From 2004 to 2016... In Twelve years, 4 different Gyrotourbillons, each of them being pure marvels, bewitching beauties, technical feats.

2004: Gyrotourbillon One.

2007: Gyrotourbillon Two:

2013: Gyrotourbillon Three:

2016: Gyrotourbillon Four.

The most complicated and surprising was the One, of course. Nobody could see it happen.

Its design, the combination of this " dancing " tourbillon, the 8 days movement, the perpetual calendar ( retrograde ) and the Equation of Time, all of this is really something...

The Gyrotourbillon Two set the decoration of the movement to another level. Impressive.

The issue of the " Two "? The proportions of the case... Which make it hardly wearable for a normal wrist.

The Gyrotourbillon Three associates the charm of a special tourbillon to the magic of a jumping digital minute chronograph. The decoration launches the hammered finishing. /My only reserve: The sun moon indicator, which is not at its place, in my opinion, in a watch of such a level.

The Gyrotoubillon Four... An impressive decoration, hiding a fact: A miracle in terms of proportions, which was very challenging, with a height of... 12, 4 mm only.

If money was not an issue, I would say that the " One " and the " Four " are my favorites.

But I would be very happy with the " One "... Only.  wink

And you, what is your Gyrotourbillon?

Best,

Nicolas

They're all amazing...

I prefer the #1 Harmonized the best, with the rose gold accents, etc. The #4 is amazing, and you didn't show the back of the watch, which is another dial that I even like better - the skeletonized version. I'd like to see #4 in a rose gold edition. The wa...

Back of the Gyro 4... For you.

...

One number four please:)

This picture of the dial at the back won me over to be honest. Otherwise I was leaning towards Gyro one. But in the end they are all beautiful watches of course, one one would do nicely! Thanks for the pictures.

More to come later? Hmmmm... That sounds promising. Agreed on the One. And on the Four.

The ideal would be to be able to get both... Best, my friend. Nicolas

THAT'S what I'm talking about!!!!

Look at the details of the finish and the guilloche on the skeletonization! I think the back is MUCH more beautiful than the front, personally - although the front is better for more "mature" eyes (read: poor eye sight). I can't wait to see this in a rose...

mechanical monster! Best, mahesh.,

Oh my goodness!

What a set of watches. For me it has to be number four. I just love everything about it from the decoration of the inside of the case, the beautiful movement and the texture of the dial. Add to this the tourbillon and well..... perfection. Please forgive ...

Thank you.

Wonderful picture. The watch has just gone from superb to sublime. Thanks again. Kev.

All So Amazing!

I still find the original #1 my favorite in terms of design. And while I love JLC for the Reverso specifically, the Reverso versions are just too "big" for comfortable wear. Thank you Nicolas for this summary, as I've been wanting to compare all of them f...

Gyro One is the one for me! ;)

May the gyro evolution continue.

Amazing creations.

How not to love them? Gyro 1 for me, please. Thanks. Vte

Good boy! [nt]

What I love with these is how JLC proves their astonishing skills in watchmaking. This is very unique and make the brand my favorite!

And to answers the question, I guess I\'ll chose the fourth one please! Thanks for these lovely pictures Nicolas. When sometimes people would like to see something different by JLC, that reminds us that their skills are traditional and classical watchmaki...

I'm going with the 2. How much because I like it most, and how much because your photos of it are so good, I can't really say.

 By: watchthatman : March 28th, 2017-19:21
I have always liked the 2. But It really is a tough choice. I love the display of the tourbillon in the 3 very much. Thanks for a great exhibition! Robert

I remember you telling me it was too big. Would love to see it in the metal.

Thinking of the triptych, which is a crazy beautiful brick but not wearable, at least by me.

1&2..

 By: Echi : March 28th, 2017-20:26
The Gyro 1 ... how can you not love that dial??? And the 2... I know it might be clunky on the wrist but the dial is just so beautiful in a very technical way. Echi

Personally Gyrotourbillon 2 for me...

 By: Huei : April 19th, 2017-21:01
More iconic as a JLC (under a reverso case) and a bigger (more visual impact) tourbillon. However, the G2 is super heavy and thick so one do need a big wrist to "carry" it. Here are some photos I took earlier to show how massive the watch is...... ...

A marvel, indeed. Therefore the level of decoration is higher than the Gyro One.

 By: amanico : April 19th, 2017-21:56
I agree with the fact that seeing it in a Reverso adds to the iconic character of the watch. Now, the proportions are breaking my heart. The Gyro Four is maybe the one to consider, then? Thanks for the wrist shots, Huei. They help a lot to appreciate the ...

Three

You guys please continue with no 1,4, & 2. I am happy with no 3. It's imperfection is alluring.

No imperfection for no. 3 at all......

 By: Huei : April 28th, 2017-00:00
In fact it is the best looking tourbillon out of the 4 IMHO (u can see more parts given it is a flying tourbillon). The digital chronograph is another treat to die for. The only "small" drawback to me is the proportions of the dial layout as it needs to f...
