Jaeger Lecoultre Amvox III, the three versions.

Apr 22, 2017,01:24 AM

In 2009, Jaeger Lecoultre unveiled the Amvox III.  A jump in the family, since till then, the Amvox watches were relatively affordable.

Let's remind that the Amvox III displays Tourbillon, a GMT and a Date. So, indeed, due to the presence of the Tourbillon, the price was not the same.

A sporty Tourbillon, which is something odd, as sports and tourbillons are not naturally evident to associate.

But it worked quite well, in this watch.

A kind of sub Extreme Lab One. And as we are mentioning this last one, the Amvox III borrowed its rotor.

2009: Amvox III Ceramic / Rose Gold:

2010: Amvox III Ceramic / Platinum.

2011: Amvox III Ceramic / Titanium.

The two first were produced in a limited edition of 300 pieces, the last one in 35 pieces.

44 mm case for all of them.

Like for the Master Tourbillon, the date jumps from 5 to 7 o' clock.

Which one do you prefer?

The warmth of the ceramic / rose gold? The discretion of the ceramic / platinum, or the sporty look of the ceramic / titanium?

Personally, I'd go for the Ceramic / Titanium, which is more consistent with the purpose of the watch. And it was the most " affordable " version, too, with a retail, at that time, which was circa 35 000 Euros.

You?

Best,

Nicolas

Ceramic / Platinum - I think it is going well with the background of the dial ! Best, mahesh.,

A bit of Rose Gold for me.

Nice post Nico. If I were to choose, will go for first one. It shows the tourbillon movement as well in Rose Gold. Will go around to search & source. Cheers ! Gautam

I'm partial to this one ...

A pleasure to see the tourbillon rotating and is very discrete. I call is my "Casio". The other versions are too bling for regular use. Cheers, Nilo ...

I had forgotten this model. I'd say 1 and 2 are Pt and Ti, but it's very close. More distant in 3rd is RG. I love the date display. Thank you for this trip down memory lane. M4

Actually like all three, but nrs 1 & 2 more.. My own choice would be 2: Ceramic& Pt.. but if the Ceramic/Ti wasn't orange, this..

.. would maybe my first, if keeping the darker color scheme of #2. Yet alas, as so many times, too many interests & wishes - these will remain elusive for me. But maybe I would first go for an Amvox -7 Chrono.. - Sighh.. Thx for superb pics & this stimula...

I like Titanium

it's obvious I'll say I love all 3 X). To tell you my true preference I'd have to see them all in person and I haven't seen the ceramic-titanium yet. I do agree with you that in theory the ceramic-titanium combination in the most complementary to the etho...

Rose gold

I find the titanium version interesting but also slightly gimmicky in its expression. The platinum is discrete, yes, but perhaps a little boring too. The rose gold version, in my opinion, is still quite discrete since the bulk of the gold is on the back s...
