A very beautiful and interesting Memo! Manual movement and with crystal case back. Yes, JML – I always like company! What fun would a forum be without it? Thanks for joining and showing your beautiful Memo! Best Blomman
Hi thanks. What I really like is that it would now be considered quite small. Though it fits my wrist perfectly. Also it fits its movement perfectly. I'm also constantantly surprised at how black dial and ostrich strap work together. But then I do like an...
...the perfect Reverso remains elusive, unless I just go ahead and get the Grande GMT, which may be THE ONE. We'll see in 2011. Thanks for recalling that I did find my perfect Memo. Best, respo
... you should seriously consider in getting Grande GMT first, look forward to seeing you joining our club by the way, as Blomman said, i also like your "perfect Memo". stefan
What we really need is for JLC to make us a reverso memovox! Until then, I can vouch that a rotation of the grande GMT and the cal 914 is a happy combo! Brian CK
Salud, Nilo ! Good to hear that your new AMVOX I didn’t take any harm from the drop...! Stunning photo, I have to learn how to take this kind of photos! Best Blomman
So far the oldest from the 90thies and only black dials! Well, I don’t blame you – you all know in which basket I have put the most of my eggs… Thanks guys for joining in! Very homogeneous so far. I wonder if this thread will show how diverse the Memovox ...
Hi Blomman Great Reveil - another great Memovox. Really like yours and the strap looks great. Have been sorely tempted by this model in the past. Cheers JML
Yes, one of my favourite dress watches! This one was the one of open my eyes for Memos… Good or bad?! I don’t know, some times I wish they didn’t tempt me so much! Best Blomman
Thank you! The numerals and hands are pure JLC DNA! One detail that is not that common on JLC’s are the bezel. The profile of the bezel is high but not very wide, a detail I really love on the Reviel! Best Blomman
My latest catch, which is chronologically an early model, the Ref E 851 ( This one was made in 1955 ). I couldn't resist... Best, Nicolas This message has been edited by amanico on 2010-07-13 23:31:50...
Like a clean example of the Memovox with the roll lugs ( the first Memo ), your black Memo housing the Cal 914, a World Time Ref 3160, the infamous Polaris 65 ( the original, of course ), and a double signature, like a Gubelin, a Dunhill or a Cartier... B...
The ref 3159 was produced immediately after the ref 3150 barrel-lug model and shares the came movement caliber and dial styles and back. All that changed was the lug type. Greg
The case reference isn't marked internally, but appears the same as the E855..... just houses a cal 815 non-date instead of the cal 825 w/date. Warning - very old pictures taken when I had a poor camera:...
What a beauty, Nicolas! It looks to be in stunning condition, and the patina is to die for, Mocca-late! Huge congrats, my friend! Cal 489/1 inside? Great idée to start at the beginning! I did as well, I started with my first Memo, and from there it’s been...
You have very long sleeves, my friend! Maybe instead of Mr Vlad your name should be the Magician?! Maybe I will slide something out from under mine soon…?! Looking great! Congrats, again! Best Blomman
And among them, one I own for quite a year, now. I had to make some researches about it, and will post it in September. I'm quite sure you don't know this one. Well, the standard model, certainly, but not this version with some interesting History behind....
…take it easy! I think some of the members have only just started… …and are holding back! So far only three Polaris for example… I hope this post will go on for a while! And if we are really lucky some of the vintage guys will join...
Blomman, many thanks for taking up this great initiative. hope to see more and more vintage and modern Memovoxs from others to join this call. for this roll call, among all my Memovoxs I have here, i picked these two to join the party. both are considered...
Wonderful to see all these Memos all together! Here is the next one to join; E 875, Speed Beat Cal 916. With a beautiful discoloured dial, original blue. Best Blomman...
There are 2 watches which cause me some issues, this Cal 914, and the bloody sister, the Memo 65. Each time I am at the poit to get them, they escape! Damn watches... Well, moon is out, time for night life! Best, Vlad..Dracul.
You have to redraw your “line”..?! As I have and when opportunity knocks, you do an “upgrade”..? Only problem with that tactic is that you will end up with pairs…! Good hunting! Best Blomman
Hi everybody, I don't usually post but this is a great thread with some wonderful waches! On my SS AMVOX1 I asked my AD to order the 22/20mm lightly perforated, black calf strap with white box stiching. You will need a 20mm pin buckle as well but I much p...
The dial will fascinate you. The ruthenium turns into brown under some light condition, it is really captivating. Keep us posted, please! Best, Nicolas
Congrats, Stefan! And yes I think you will make it, because we never close…! Look at the Polaris Roll Call, still popping up new entries! So you did go for TI version? Best Blomman
Hi Blomman, It is not a NOS piece but it's in a very good condition. The case has been polished before but it still looks nice....this is my favourite E 855 model. And thanks for starting this Roll Call! Zsolt
....somehow the second part of that line disappeared.... Anyway, that is the TTP 68 Polaris with the "wrong" dial what I mentioned to you a couple of weeks ago....and thanks to your advice I finally decided to buy it. It is a great watch and I will post s...
The reference 3150 was the very first Memovox model released by JLC and came in several different dial/hand styles. Here are (3) examples I've had in my collection (I've had a couple of others but can't find pictures at the moment): Greg...
Great to see that you have joined the party! All I can say is WOW!!! Your display of Memos just blows my mind! Will have to look closer tonight! If I know my self right after seeing this I won’t be able to sleep… Best Blomman
Here's the next Memovox issued after the barrel-lugged ref 3150. The ref 3150 also came in many dial variations and hand styles. I can't find the pix of the 18K version I had, so the stainless model is all I have to share for now: Greg...
Here's a U.S.-model reference 2744 in both a worldtime and non-worldtime versions. The original dealer catalog shows the worldtime version with the 2nd version of the worldtime dial: Interesting bit of trivia: both worldtime dial styles (concentric and ra...
The arrival of the Memos World Time... Another one I'm hunting... This would deserve a dedicated post " JLC and the World Time "... Best, and thanks for these rare pictures, Greg. Nicolas
In 1955, Henry Ford II issued Memovox watches to his top salesmen (and their wives) in a special boxed set. The men's watch was a U.S.-model Memovox reference modified with a Ford emblem on the dial at the 12 o'clock position. The lady's watch was a Longi...

The 1955 Ford special-edition Memovox models shown in my earlier post are relatively easy to find, but how many people know that AMC (American Motor Company) also commissioned a special edition Memovox as a sales presentation award? It was a 2-tone (stain...
thanks indeed for this very informative post. i have never known these interesting information before. it is really educating to me. but i have a question regarding these two special case numbers 9386 and 3015, interestingly these two casings were not cap...
No, the 2 models don't appear in Zaf's book. I don't think Zaf makes the claim for his book to be an exhaustive reference on every Memovox model ever made (that would be a much much thicker book). In fact, his book is quite light on covering many of the U...
... and also he can cover more US models in his 2nd edition. after seeing so many your beautiful Memovoxs, just feel so much that i don't know... it is long way ahead for me! thanks so much for sharing your collection! stefan
Nobody attempted the trivia question I posed about the car in the background (very recognizable for U.S. collectors): 1955 Thunderbird (same year as watch). More trivia (complete with answer): Did you know that Henry Ford II commissioned another special w...
I have one as well but I wanted to know how do the origin band for these watches look. The one I have is a spandex band and is the same gold color as the watch.

Greg, they are beautiful Memovox Pocket Alarms. you know i was seeing one Memovox Parking Pocket Alarm, but that time i am not sure the center disk with parking numbers are correct or replacement. i did not go for that! did you know JLC had make Memovox P...
I haven't personally seen a Pocket Alarm with a parking dial and don't remember seeing one in my catalogs. I'll look again. It wouldn't surprise me that they made such a model since they are from the same period as the Worldtime dials and Pocket Alarms we...
I've been lucky enough to find 4 examples of the scarce (2,000 made) caliber 601 Memovox (alarm pointer hand instead of rotating alarm disc) for my collection, but I recently noticed that I also have its twin in a U.S. version watch. The cal 601 movement ...
…a history I and I think many others didn’t know about! And for that I thank you greatly, even if it will cost me a lot of sleepless nights! Best Blomman
I suppose I've tended to collect a lot of the U.S.-model LeCoultre watches in the past because the history was so undocumented and interesting. I've slowly been able to piece some parts of the puzzle by collecting old dealer bulletins, documents and catal...
I've had the U.S. version of the Parking, but not the Swiss (pictures somewhere in my computer, but having trouble finding). I like the Swiss version much better. That's one I need to acquire some day. Yours is simply stunning! Congrats!
It will come to you, my friends. It was a nice surprise, as I began to desesperate till one of my friends called me to ask me if I had any interest on a Memo Parking. You can imagine my answer... Best, Nicolas
Crazy?! No, just different tactic… Get one when you have a chance and if a better one comes along, do a upgrade! The only hitch in this tactic is that I have problem letting go of watches… Best Blomman PS. But to be honest, I might be a little crazy…...
.... WOW your Memovox diver is lovely one. seeing your AMVOX 1, i really hope my one can arrive to me in time so that i take some pics of it to join this party. stefan

Back to post a few more U.S. Memovox models. Very interesting dial markers on this U.S. model "HPG" Speedbeat (cal 916). It is a case reference 3075. The markers have a lapis-like mottled blue color that contrasts nicely with the red sweep second and red ...
Another Ref I didn't know. Thanks, Greg. The Lapis Markers are a good idea, in my opinion. The onlly thing which is so so is the red second hand...Curious in such an elegant version. Best! Nicolas
... the red sweep second does spoil the elegance a bit. I hadn't really noticed before posting that the red was carried onto the alarm triangular marker also. If they felt the need to add color, a blue sweep second might have been nice. Oh well....
I just stumbled upon the twin of this watch (E874) in an old 1972 JLC catalog. The only difference on the JLC version: the sweep second hand and triangular alarm pointer were colored gloss black. The hand is the same thick shape, just a different color.
I recall a thread on this forum recently featuring blue-dialed Memovoxes..... here is a U.S.-model manual (cal 911) to add to the list. I haven't seen this version here very often, with the square markers printed with Arabic numerals. Certainly haven't se...
You have to pay attention to notice the Date, with these square markers at 3, 9 and 12. Interesting, for those who don't like Dates, it can be a solution... Best, Nicolas.
Thanks for this nice initiative and the amazing thread. My modest contribution, from E855 to more 70's models (E87X and others) : and back in history to the latest arrival on board, the DSA: Thanks also to GregB for impressive and extensive overview of LC...
What a great selection, my friend. When I look at your E 855, trio, I feel less guilty to want and hunt a 3rd one, tghe one with the Ebony indexes... You're absolutely correct, it may well be an endless story. Congrats on your E 857 Deep Sea! Best, Nicola...
Thanks Nicolas. For the moment, I keep my eyes open for a pink gold 855 (and of course, for a nice bezel for the DSA...) What about you ? When will you provide us with a picture of your complete memovox tribe (you might need a wide-angle lens) ? karmin
It may look like the follwonig list: Vintage Polaris 65. Memovox World Time Ref 3160. Memovox Double Signature ( Gubelin, Duhnill or Cartier ).. Memovox E 855 Ebony indexes. Memovox E 861. Memovox ref 3150 ( Tubular lugs ). The idea is cover all the Memos...
Fellow Memovox lovers! I am soon out of bullets, so I will start my end game with an AMVOX I in SS. The first one in a theme I call “Pure Black”! Best Blomman...
... i have also no idea about that. i have opened the case, but find no number on inside caseback?! for that SS one, the dial seems like refinished, but the casing and the movement are perfect! by the way, i also feel dizzy now... i just can't imagine so ...
The interesting, very interesting thing is that we are many, here, to own more than one Memovox. It is really a cult watch, whatever is the version. As for the Cal 910 / 911, yes, we doesn't see many. I'm looking for my first one with the WT 3160... Best,...
While the cal 911 is common here, the cal 910 (non-date) is far less common. Here is the way they were shipped from the Le Sentier to the U.S. for casing; with dials and hands pre-installed in batches of 10: Greg...
...i have been recently checking Memovox with Cal.911, most of them that i can find so far are marked with LC instead of JLC. and also it explains why the Cal.911 housed in much more different types of casing! from my observation so far, i saw many Memovo...
... you only look at the front view of my watches, i did not show you the pic of caseback. would like to learn from you more on how to identify that thanks in advance! stefan
I try to keep notes on the case numbers and calibers (as well as detailed pictures inside and out) on all the watches that come through my collection. I hope to someday publish the list with pictures when it is a little more complete. I haven't had as man...
i see, no wonder you know the case reference of my watches straight away. i think your list is not completed yet, but the list of this kind would be very helpful and useful for collectors here. with this kind of important data, then more people can learn ...
It will be a heavy work, as there are so many Vintage Lc, JLC, and Jaeger , but WE all can try to bring our knowledge and do it. Let me think about it, I will soon come back to you. Best, my friend. Nicolas
i think we may set up a database for that listing that everyone can contribute by adding/amending to the listing. in any case, this work will be helping us and next and next generation to carry on history and spirit of JLC in future. i am sure our grand c...
Your last two? But your new AMVOX will come soon, yes? I am also almost out of bullets, but I think Nico is still holding some back from us…!!! Best Blomman
If Mr Kaiser Sauzée joins then almost all the "Usual Suspects" are here… and then this thread would be even more over the top! Never seen anything like this! What was I thinking?! I will not get a good night sleep in weeks after this…!!! ...
Welcome Swiss Made! An E 872 in stunning condition! Of course we like it! You really choose the right moment for your watch to join this forum! Best Blomman
I think it's great that we have so many vintage and also so many different Memos shown here! Actually, I am surprised – the out come of this thread is much, much more than in my wildest dreams! Best Blomman
As all my radium watches... This white E 855 is among my favourites. The radium indexes and hands just gives it the necessary warmth to make of this watch an exceptional watch. Best, Nicolas
…only one watch. Then we would probably wear the same on or wrists! Did I mention that I saw one in the wild?! Well, at the Geneva airport – but still! Best Blomman
love to see "black' attraction, and also it is the same year as my birth year, can't escape from this beauty, another one is in my shopping list stefan
Great watch ,definitely. You have the honor to be the only one here to get it. But this monopole won't last too much, for sure! Best, Nicolas This message has been edited by amanico on 2010-07-17 06:18:28
Yes, that version is very tempting! My AD was kind and brought both SS and RG for me to choose from. Both with my special number! My mind was racing to get both but… Luckily I could restrain myself, as you know I got something else instead…! Have you deci...
Blomman, et al - I have heard issues that the brake on the hammer will unequivocally "go" within a couple of months and the watch will clang around when your wrist moves. Any longer term reports from you on this? Or have you heard this from others? Thanks...
I had seen it posted in another forum that for about 30 minutes following an alarm indicator that the hammer would subtly strike the chime as you moved around. Apparently on the most current model they installed a brake to prevent this. But I heard that t...

But here's Incurison #10/62 in all its incarnations: And, of course, an "action" shot: To say that I love it is an understatement of gross proportions. As a diver watch aficionado and fan of JLC (and, of course, of the marque's trademark complications), t...

Great trade – the Pola is really special! Of course, it’s always painful to part from a watch. But it’s not to late, there are always room for more that one Memo in the collection, right?! Best Blomman
I've seen this model before but don't know the case reference. If you've ever had it open, it will be stamped inside the back of the case. Any idea what the ref is? Cal 815 bumper auto? Regards, Greg
Very nice LeCoultre – haven’t see that one before! Horizontal index and the dial looks almost shaped like a pie-pan. Or maybe it’s because of the angle and light in the photo. Please tell us more! Best Blomman
Sorry I don't know what a pie pan looks like. I'm from India. Anyways I'll try and take better pics for fellow Experts to comment about it. All I know is that it was a LOVE at first sight... Thanks for viewing
The whole watch looks to be in great condition, congrats! Never noticed that kind of hour hand before, very interesting. Thanks for sharing. Best Blomman
Is movement Cal 911? Same as in some pocket alarms from that time. An US version, goldplated or solid? It looks to be in really good condition! Congrats, Stefan! Wear it in good health! Best Blomman
yes, the movement is Cal.911 which used in more pocket alarms during that period. as Nico said in other posts, Memovox with Cal.911 is not very commonly found. that's why i have aimed to hunt one for my collection. to my knowledge, most of the time, i fou...
