Swiss GTG day 1 .

Jun 19, 2017,14:33 PM

Our next visit of the first day was to the legend himself , Mr Philippe Dufour .
After a warm welcom and some great story's about his past we looked at his old workshop thats looked like a step back in time

He also showed us a project he was working on .
As we all know he dosnt really take any more orders to make a new wristwatch again , he told us he has got a lot of requests but his answer is allways ,,maybe,, .

Let us hope he will make a few new ones in the near future so we can see more of his great craftsmanship .
I wish i could show you some more pictures but we have to do it with mr Philippe Dufour his own watch . The great Simplicity

After the visit Mr Dufour accompanied us for a great dinner with mr and ms Gauthier . ,,to bad i dont have a picture from that evening with mr Dufour on it,,

To meet the legend himself in his own workshop is a dream come true .

I happened to be seated next to the Master watchmaker at dinner that evening....

When this man offers to personally serve you food on your plate, the answer is always "yes please"...... ...

Oh.... I found this as well.

What an evening we had ! The food was so good but I must admit I was concentrating a lot on the conversation also being sitted next to Philippe D. and Romain G.! One of my most memorable horological dinners for sure . Thank you so much again Romain if you...

I can't reply on his behalf as I don't know his agenda and travel plans but...

 By: Mike H : June 25th, 2017-14:38
...probably the easiest way woul be for you to come at Baselworld and either try to meet with him there if he comes (he usually does...) or take the opportunity to go and visit him at his workshop in Vallรฉe de Joux if you manage to get a slot in his surel...

Thanks for this great capture ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

And what an evening it was - a complete contrast between the watches of Romain Gauthier and Philippe Dufour but both being connected by a dedication to horology and to perfection. Truly a mind boggling trip!

Your so right , about PD we all now its perfection to the highest level
