the Erwin:
Further to Habring2's milestone creation, the Felix, which propelled the tiny Austrian watchmaking landscape to completely new levels in terms of in-house manufactory capabilities and regionally sourced components, the Erwin now comes with Habring2's lauded jumping seconds mechanism, which jumps more precisely than any other I know.
Next to the additional complication, Erwin also introduces a new face design which will be available for the Felix as well. Deeply routed in the 1950s aesthetics, its comes with a flat brushed dial with golden applique indices. So far so good, but really outstanding are the hands - I could marvel for hours at the delicious rounded shpae, which comes to full play around the hands' eyes:
The movement is based on Felix' Cal. A11B enhanced with a newly calculated jumping seconds complication. Its now called A11S:
With a height of 5.7mm its still very flat. The jumping seconds mechanism is fully exposed to you see it in action. Its remarkably simple, too:
Lastly, a joy to strap on and a wonderful feeling of caring for a rare watch of comprehensive consistency - at all accounts (and one still wonders how iPhone shots (wrist) come out almost as good as those with a full-frame DSLR (watch)...)!
Cheers,
Magnus
