Here's the new MING 19.01 housing a Schwarz-Etienne movement with skeletonized bridges & barrels

Nov 03, 2017,08:12 AM

The MING 19.01 timepiece features a 39mm titanium case with a sapphire dial with radial gradient from deep blue opaque at the center to transparent at the outer edges.

Movement used is a Schwartz-Etienne with a power reserve of 100 hours with skeletonized bridges that are anthracite colored and bead blasted for a matte look.  Double barrels are also skeletonized.  Very attractive movement if you ask me!

Retail price is CHF 7,900 but you can pre-order the watch on the MING website for CHF 6,800 until Dec 31, 2017.  Pre-orders begin a few days from now on Nov 7th.

Deliveries are estimated to take place in 3Q of 2018.

Cheers,
Anthony

but for a vintage JLC Memovox is next on the list. This Ming doesn't have the odd orientation of Arabic numbers, & looks so much better for it

Very interesting piece. lots of positives

semi opaque crystal is unique, 100 hr PR, Beautiful balanced movement and case. Is this Moser level??

Please do it dear Alkiro !

I am looking forward to what the final opinion will be, but I am afraid I would prefer a Moser no matter what the outcome will be.

Really spectacular

Congrats Ming, this is really an achievement to create a design that is new, but not disconcerting. Really nailed the details. Bravo, Brandon

Note that this is not a limited edition, unlike the 1st one...

So it’s testing the market now. I have to agree the watch is looking good. Rgds Raymond

Really cool...

It's very TRON-esque.

Wasn’t fussed on the 17.01 (too small for me), but this I find to be confused and at odds with itself.

I don’t like the: lugs radial gradient lack of numerals/indices lack of seconds hand lack of strap in-fill between lugs price and the least said about the lumed circle nonsense, the better! I do like the: movement long PR hands choice of strap manufacture...

Cool concept.

But would those lugs fit a wide variety of wrists?

Love it!

Saw some videos on Instagram and looked very interesting. A VERY impressive, boundary pushing 2nd offering from a brand that did not exist 12 months ago... congratulations Mr. Ming!

One question about servicing.

Who do you send it to?

Back to Schwarz-Etienne [nt]

If you want to see a little video (which is Imo always better than pictures)

Go to Instagram and look for @collectible_watches I had the pleasure to see this watch yesterday when I spoke to some of the people behind this brand The watch did look fantastic and the movement really is something else. The watch is very recognisable b...

Really like the movement!

It's great that the design language is carried on to this - currently - flagship model. I hope these do not get sold out in a nanosecond, too

Fascinated as many, who wrote before me, by this new Ming

but now it seems we’re starting to play in another league, at least considering the price, so we are back to the same question, is it worth it? Considering that 12 months ago Ming didn’t even exist? Could it be a wise “investment”? I know we do not discus...

Part of the spending is on "security" of resale, service, spares, dealer network, celebrity connection, etc.

Those are the sorts of things my "Civilian" watch buying friends look for but even for us who are deep in the watch world they are still important. Cazalea

Dear Cazalea, I agree with you,

I do believe everyone factors in before deciding to pull the trigger many different thoughts and at least imho you listed some of them How many times even discussing on watches from some established brands we read something like “but in this range of pric...

Independents?

 By: Geo : November 5th, 2017-00:13
I do not see the brand as an Independent like Moser, Urwerk or MB&F to name a few. Ming is a bussinessman/photographer/designer, nothing wrong with that since he does everything very good, what he does, he is a professional, but to call the brand an Indep...

Agreed, and again I apologize, obviously (but at this point I have to confess that probably some thinkings seem obvious to me only) it wasn’t my intention to put Ming on the same level of

many respected independent brands, which btw I love and Of which some release are for me really grails (as of now I have only a Centigraph from FPJ), I’d like a lot to be able to buy something from Kary, Romain Gauthier and most of all De Bethune (maybe b...
