Antiquorum; "Seller Beware"
The recent post, "Chrono 24", "Buyer Beware" has prompted me to post; "Antiquorum", "Seller Beware".
On Dec 8 2016, Antiquorum sold my Breitling Chronograph, Lot#8, for a hammer price of $1900 and has not sent me a cheque for the proceeds. All correspondence with them is met with prevarication. Recent complaints to the Better Business Bureau of New York, ( they are not a member), are met with silence. As I approach four months now without my watch or money, I find it particularly galling to see them advertising for their upcoming April 27 New York auction. It is quite distressing to consign a timepiece to a major auction house and feel that you have been robbed. If I were to sell another watch at auction, I would do my due diligence choosing a well reputed company. I thought Antiquorum was in that league. "Seller Beware"

are out there. Can you communicate directly with them rather than being put off by their office contact people.
This Forum is now aware of at least three horror stories arisng out of dealings with Antiquorum.
Please everyone: stop buying and selling with AQ! They really can't be trusted.
In addition to dishonesty...
... They are also guilty of sheer incompetence. Won a watch at auction once (yeah I was foolish) and they sent it to the wrong address! Luckily my neighbour down the road recognised my name and redirected the courier.
So many problems with this terrible auction house...
A lot of PuristSPro members, including myself, have been burned at this auction house. And this auction house has performed shamelessly. No auction house is perfect, and every one has its problems. But Antiquorum in particular has had a lot of problems!

At this point in dealing with them, whether I ever get my money or not, I have at least been able to warn other fellow watch enthusiasts.

That's outrageous. Pretty bold move on their part. The only grievance is you wanting your money after they sold your watch. It literally cannot get anymore straight forward. The balls on these guys.... sorry to hear, thanks for the warning. 10th time does...

over in news central (probably misposted). My watch was the VC ref 30051 in their Dec 8 auction. Needless to say, I've had the same problems you've had in recovering the money I'm owed. Sellers, stay away from Antiquorum!!
