Friends,
Girard-Perregaux is really pushing the rebirth of the Laureato, new versions of this year are not over yet…
This time it is one for the ladies, the Laureato 34 mm Royalty Limited Edition!
Or should we call it “Blue Diamond”?
This Limited Edition has a different blue dial, clearer, brighter blue.
The dial still with the beautiful Clous de Paris pattern, but the date disk is not matching as on the regular version which gives a good contrast to read the date.
The blue dial is surrounded by 56 diamonds following the octagon line.
Very feminine but still not overly bling-bling.
Another significant change is the open case back which gives us a chance to admire the movement.
Yes, I know, many of us here frown upon Quartz movements, but the calibre GP013100-0004 is not an ordinary Quartz movement.
Look at the finish and decoration, the standard is high!
Yes, it would have been even more attractive to see a balance wheel instead of the battery cover.
But I still think the amount of effort and attention to details that Girard-Perregaux put into this movement can be appreciated!
From a historical point of view, this is very coherent as the original Laureato were equipped with Quartz movement.
GP as pioneers in the Quartz movement field were a part of setting the standard that is still used today, the oscillating frequency of 32.768 Hz!
The Laureato 34 mm Royalty Limited Edition comes in two versions: 200 pieces in Steel and 100 pieces in Pink Gold.
For the Lady who likes to have a real watch, but don’t want the hustle of winding it each day!
