Girard-Perregaux Tourbillon in three colours
Feb 21, 2018,00:18 AM
Ok, only an engraved Tourbillon cage, but still...
In 1994 Girard-Perregaux launched the "Vintage" collection.
The intention was to release a modern version of a historic piece from the GP museum every year as a limited edition and in exclusive finishing and material.
In 1994, the "Vintage 94" made the start of the collection, also known as Ref 2550 available as 203 pieces in precious metal.
The backside was engraved with the iconic Tourbillon cage as used on the signature three-golden-bridge models.
The two on the left (Yellow and White Gold) are a Vintage 94.
In 1995 then the "Vintage 1995" was released, Ref 2595, on the photo on the right in pink gold.
Ref 2595 was also a limited edition in only precious metal. Around 400 of them were made.
The Vintage 1995 became very successful and was soon renamed "Vintage 1945" after its museum piece and re-released as Ref 2594 in the regular collection.
The Vintage collection continued till the end of the 90s. There was a Vintage 1996, a Vintage 1997 and a Vintage 1999. Not sure if there ever was a Vintage 1998, not aware of it. But let's save those for a later post.
Best,
CC
