Girard-Perregaux 1966, 40mm in steel - with diamonds

Mar 21, 2017,00:54 AM

Friends,

We see more and more men's watches with diamonds.

Personally I am not a big fan...

But if, I would prefer it made in a discrete tasteful way.

Like this Girard-Perregaux 1966, 40mm in steel:

Just to add a small extra spice...

What is your take on the "Bling" trend among men's watches?

More, the merrier?

Diamond's are only for ladies?

Not at all?

Best

love them on Ladies watches but for men, not my style...

Yes, that is the more traditional view!

Don't like jewels on the dials of men's watches

But discrete hour markers in diamond work better for me than a bezel full' I generally prefer steel and some lume to gold and diamonds - I'm a simple practical guy

Function before bling! [nt]

No diamonds for me, thanks

I have enough trouble convincing myself with a precious metal case, diamonds will be fine on a watch my wife wears, but not on mine.

I don't mind gold case...

On the contrary! Last few years I wear more and more gold. Maybe it is my age.... Best Blomman

I think you're right. I got my first gold watch (yellow gold too) last year......surprised myself, to say the least!

What our watch tells other people about us

I think that most people - outside the community of watch nuts - pay little attention to other peoples watches. But some people form an opinion of us through the sort of watch we wear. If like me. we are fairly reserved people we will most likely wear a r...

I think very few outside the WIS community....

Really look at you watch. In my experience, I often get more comment if wearing a well-known brand then if gold. I have no diamond watches so I can't comment on that.... Best Blomman

He, he....

I with the restraint brigade here. I also suspect while it may add significantly to the purchase price , it probably won't do the same for long term value Cheers JML

The only watch with a diamond I would like to own is the Jaquet Droz Date Astrale (one diamond for the retrograde date)

Here a pic Credit: Watchonista By the way, this GP 1966 is not so bad and I\'m not "shocked" by those diamonds. Best wishes Alkiro ...

So, no Patek for you? [nt]

I have to say that the 1966 looks nice with the spice! I'd take it. Or a PP 5170P. ;-)

Extra spice is Nicke to....
