I have just been named the biggest carnivore Alkiro knows

May 06, 2017,16:12 PM

As much as I would consider that a honorific, my long unused and almost forgotten scientific training requires some evidence to be examined before a decision is made either way wink

Enter today's lunch as exhibit A. The start is not promising for Alkiro's hypothesis and my reputation - while a cow was involved, it was a casual affair, rather than a full-on commitment wink

Continuing on, the theory starts firming up - the salad in the background is not mine, I may add wink

The mains are inconclusive. While my scallops are hardly meat - nor is the pea purée...

...the eight hour pork belly most certainly and delectably is biggrin Simply delightful!

On the dessert front it is absolutely empirically clear - no meat in the chocolate brownie tarte. wink

So where does that leave us? With a belly full of truly tasty food, some of it meat and some not. And with many meals to look forward to, examining the matter in greater detail smile

Thanks for the research question, Alkiro! wink

That potato gratin does not sound all that light...

Asparagus season has started here, so decided on that instead of lamb. There is veal involved, though, no worries

As I can read, you're not at a loose end

But not light, in spite of it being vegetarian...

Not so bad not so bad

But my wife told me... "ok, next time, it'll be one with courgettes" Best wishes Alkiro

That actually sounds delicious even to a carnivore like me :)

I do on occasion turn omnivore, or as it's known these days - flexitarian

Variety being the spice of life and all...

 By: KMII : May 7th, 2017-11:26
And that's definitely true, when it comes to food

Oh yes ;-)
