While one moderator is away..... smile

Folks, there is yet another brand-spanking-new place to visit in Ginza, Tokyo.  It's called Ginza Six or GSIX, just opened on April 20th.

And why post that on Chopard forum?  Of course it is because it has Chopard boutique (the 2nd one in Ginza area) inside, too.

I was fortunate enough to be invited to the reception, prior to its official opening and here is the short report.

Before the reception starts, what a crowd in front of Chopard Boutique!  The staff had to rope us in, as there were people who want to pass by.  Surely, even when waiting, there was Chapagne, wine service smile

Chopard Japan General Manager, Thomas Dobeli making speech before opening.  Next to him are Mr. and Mrs. Ambassador from Switzerland stationed in Japan.

Now, it is time to open the boutique and TAPE CUT!  (sometimes I wonder why it has to be done by multiple people.....)

(sorry for lesser quality and quantity of the photos due to (1) too many people, and (2) too hot it was in there!).

Watches corner.  Display is set in the round case for watches, and for jewelries separately.

The latest ones are here, too....

See what I mean by "crowd"? smile

On the right is the jewelry display and there are many, many, and many ladies.... (assuming this is pre-open reception with invitation only event, they must be good clients of Chopard....)

From the store front.  Much wider than my camera could take.

Really big boutique.  Must visit again soon.  Congrats, Chopard.  This is the one at the great location and nicely done boutique.

Ginza Six was built after where Matsuzakaya department store had been for decades and it has hundreds of brands as its tenants - fashion, food, lifestyle, etc....  Located in Ginza 6-chome (thus, Ginza Six), very close to the famous Ginza 4-chome crossing (where Mitsukoshi, Wako, Nissan showroom, and San-ai buildings surround).  For tourists - this is really worth taking a look.  It will be fun just to walk around.  There is restaurant floor on top and you can do everything here, except of course staying the night.

Chopard is located on the 1st floor or Ground floor of it.

Thank you for invitation, Chopard Japan!

This place, whole complex will be the new "spot" in Ginza!

Former Matsuzakaya "depato" was the current Mrs MTF's favourite

When we lived in Tokyo, Matsuzakaya department store was the current Mrs MTF's favourite. That was strange because, as Ken intimated, it was even then, losing customers and foot traffic. Somehow, the quieter and more genteel old fashioned service appealed...

Yeah, my mother and I both kinda miss that place, but the time changes....
