Some more model car fun - this time with a Chopard LUC Sport

Apr 17, 2017,14:33 PM

Cars have probably been a passion of mine even before watches ever entered the scene. And while working in the sector makes you look at modern ones as closer to a commodity product (branding having a more difficult time to work on you), they still move me.

And recently this resulted in some 1:18 model car purchases, which are much more practical than the real thing (and can be stored at the office wink).

So here just a recent shot of my LUC Sport with a Renault 4, a car my mother drove when I was a child smile

The Chopard Pairing game: Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B at Mille Miglia 1938 Porsche 919 Black at Le Mans 2016 SAAB 9-3 Turbo SE at My Driveway 2016 MTF ...

Very cool!

I guess the Chopard / Alfa co-operation is over, right? Have you not switched over to the three pointed star in the meantime?

Any classic car brand can be associated with Chopard

 By: MTF : April 18th, 2017-03:11
Actually, any classic racing marque can be associated with Chopard because of their link with Mille Miglia racing. In the past, Chopard celebrated anniversaries with Alfa Romeo and Zagato . (Click to Read) Despite being timekeeping partner with Porsche Mo...

Good point, well made :)

Simply been a while since the last Alfa edition, I guess...

The SAAB is a classic keeper

 By: MTF : April 18th, 2017-03:25
The SAAB is currently at the paintshop having a total makeover...wrinkles removed and total respray. I should not recognise her when she is back. But you're right...the current Mrs MTF has gone back to the 3-pointed star...E-Coupe to follow CLK Mk I, CLK ...

The Saab is definitely a keeper :)

More and more each year, I\'d say!

As usual, I take collecting to excess

Luckily I only have Citroen and Lotus models, and the latter are pretty rare. Cheers, Cazalea ...

No competing with you :)

And I really like the colour of the 300SL - definitely not the most common one

Looked like a shade of blue at first glance :)

But you are right of course!

I've been owning this car for 30 years I think :-)

Much longer than mine have been in the collection...

 By: KMII : April 18th, 2017-14:09
