A bit of a crapshoot....Las Vegas (and Chopard) style
Sep 13, 2016,22:14 PM
For years now, I've admired the Chopard Chrono One, with the beautifully done in-house movement. The steel one has always appealed to me, but really just because the price is so much more palatable compared to the white gold. While doing a little web surfing and watch watching online tonight, I happened upon a well known luxury department store here in the US, where they're having some sort of flash sale. Low-and-behold, only two Chopards were included in this 40% off sale, which doesn't include the previously discounted price. I bring up the pricing for one simple reason: The picture shows the steel model that I've always admired; the description says 18k case and describes the 'gray guilloche dial' on the white gold model, not the steel model pictured. The price is superb for the stainless model, but would be quite a steal above the steel, if I received the beautiful 18k WG model (pardon the bad pun).
I understand the watch is being shipped to me from the Las Vegas store, so it will indeed be a crapshoot to see what I actually get: the steel as pictured, or an even bigger steal in WG as described in the listing. Regardless, this is one superb watch and an incredible movement
Cheers!
Douglas

You are obviously savvy about Chopard. I believe they make fine timepieces, no doubt. But it is also a brand that dealers make unreal offers on. I always believe in buying the watch you like best regardless of the cost or discount, but when you find a Cho...

First, the good: The watch arrived, boxes and some paperwork from Neiman Marcus, new and unused. Turns out, it was the steel model after all, and not the gold ;( Regardless, I purchased it for less than 40% of the MSRP (60% discount), so it was still a gr...
At least it all turned out OK...
