Hi all,
Very exciting news. A new book on AL Breguet and his line of souscription watches has been published. Title: Breguet's Subscription And Tact Watches
Currently only available in French (print run of 500 only). I just bought my copy directly from the author and am having it signed.
Author is Georges Rigot (who might be familiar to some here as the co-author of "Steel Time" - a book about the FP Journe's personal collection of steel watches). Also seems to be a lovely person to deal with. Georges is happy to send you the book with a personal inscription.
English version will only happen if the French edition sells, so come-on all you Francophones out there. Get this sold-out now !!!!
At the moment you can get the book from eBay France or by emailing Georges Rigot directly on: johnkennedy727@gmail.com. Cost is €80 + shipping.
Disclaimer: I have NO financial arrangement with the author and reporting this here because I thought other Breguet enthusiasts like me would be interested.
Synopsis of the book is below:
Designed, written and published by George's Rigot, an expert on Breguet's work, this volume covers most aspects of Breguet's work from the end of the 18th century.
Amateurs and professionals of ancient watchmaking, as well as anyone interested in the exceptional work of Abraham-Louis Breguet, will discover the origin, history, detailed technique of their movement, as well as models derived from Caliber design, including the famous tact watches, watches produced by the students of Breguet, watches of other watchmakers inspired by their design and also counterfeit and plagiarism, more or less loyal, that have been marketed.
