Breguet 3577 Tourbillon and Chronograph

Nov 18, 2017,02:41 AM

Hi Guys,

I'm looking to buy a 2005 watch. See below, I 'borrowed' a photo from the internet.

Does anyone have any experience with this watch? Seems to be very complicated. Any service issues? Reliability?

On Breguet's site, I can't find a successor to the 3577. When did this series end?

Any info appreciated. Thanks.

It is super time-tested, but will require the usual tourbillon care. Expect it to be the usual level of expensive for tourbillons. If you look on the Breguet website, there is a essay about the Lemania chronograph movement here: Click As you can see, Bre...

Thanks. What 'usual tourbillon care"?

Never owned a tourbillon before. What do I need to do?

The first rule is always speak softly to it

Never raise your voice to a tourbillon. And do not taunt a Breguet. That's just science. Neither a borrower nor a lender be When you set the time, have the last direction the hands go be clockwise. When you wind the watch, never, ever force things, but in...

There are very few tourbillon chronographs out there. So, there isn't much information on the platinum Breguet 3577. (2.5hz in 2005) “Grande Complication”. There is a little information about the movement. The 554.2 (manual winding) is built on the 533.3 ...

I wouldn't expect terrible things just because it's a tourbillon. The only real problem is that you can't have it regulated outside of a full service. I would consider working with a skilled, trustworthy independent watchmaker. I know two very good watchm...

Looks like December 2006 …

… according to this source. :/&prev=search Actually, I would prefer to do a full service at the manufacturer because they are more likely to have the parts and know how. What bothers me is not knowing how often the tourbillon needs to be adjusted. The chr...

Oh wow, earlier than I thought!

2006 it is. As for parts, that's no worry, Breguet will fix any watch in its entire history.

This is heresy.

Tourbillons and repeaters have been the crème of horology for many decades. However, TAG HEUER CARRERA HEUER-02T at just $17k raises questions about the exclusivity of tourbillon watches. This guy thinks that... “Here’s Why: The Chronograph Is The New To...
