Which eBay site? [nt]

 By: arcadelt : June 21st, 2017-17:52

It was USA but ended early.

 By: Briandumais : June 21st, 2017-17:55
I think the seller made a deal. Brian

It was sold unopened. So maybe it was flooded?

 By: Briandumais : June 21st, 2017-18:25
They said it ran but needed service. You are taking a chance being without seeing moment or dustcover Brian

Looks like it has been relisted.

 By: Briandumais : June 25th, 2017-17:44
I don't think i have seen this one before. I heard rumors of this watch but i have not seen it yet. Did i miss the thread??? IF not please start a new thread and introduce this great watch! Thanks Brian

I bet it's a navy ship.

 By: Briandumais : June 22nd, 2017-08:48
I bet it's a navy ship.

I think I was overthinking it.

 By: Briandumais : June 22nd, 2017-12:13
I think they are initials and year purchased. '61 is the perfect date for this watch. Brian

McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst ?

 By: W154 : June 22nd, 2017-11:49
The watch for sale is only 40 miles from that base...

Scratch that... The three bases only merged in 2009

 By: W154 : June 22nd, 2017-12:49
But Lakehurst was the Navy part, so maybe the L could be for Lakehurst. Mxxxx Divers Lakehurst ?

Fixed lugs!

 By: fifty fathoms : June 22nd, 2017-12:02
There is one fixed lug at 12 o'clock. I know that only from the tr-900. Any more pics? Stephan

Here is photo of a fixed lugs.

 By: Briandumais : June 22nd, 2017-18:01
Photo credit goes to Viktoria at mwr. It is a 4K serial number. I think it was an exhibition piece with military ties. Brian ...

Civil?

 By: XX-FF : June 23rd, 2017-07:21
n my opinion, it is a civil one, it is identical to one of my Milspec The AM have the bars larger diameter welded but the lug is not pierced and are not numbered. Excuse my bad English. ...

I agree on the welding of the lugs.

 By: Briandumais : June 23rd, 2017-10:58
And the fixed lugs that i have seen before do not go thru the lugs all the way. So i am thinking the single fixed bar might just be a quick fix. Brian

Exctly

 By: XX-FF : June 24th, 2017-00:52
Exactly, in French I will « réparation de fortune » a small temporary repair,

Small crown

 By: fifty fathoms : June 23rd, 2017-12:25
Serial number closed to mine. Mine Milspec has a big crown. Thus I think mine has a replacement! Stephan

Wow! Sold for US $61,201.99

 By: reintitan : June 28th, 2017-21:20
Did someone here get it?

what the hell

 By: fifty fathoms : June 29th, 2017-02:19
makes that price !?! Is it the engraving ? What movement has this watch? I think it was a civilian Milspec. used by professionals.

I was amazed too. Brian [nt]

 By: Briandumais : June 29th, 2017-17:31

double Swiss

 By: XX-FF : June 30th, 2017-06:34
Indeed surprising price without knowing the movement but watching the dial carefully I wonder if it is not a double Swiss.

i think watch stays in the forum...

Aviation structural mechanic

 By: levelero : July 10th, 2017-10:22
Connected with the USN, had such an abbreviation; AM. Even if i did not see the AM engraving in any other militar watch connected with the US Navy, it could have sense!

That's it. You never saw MDL engraved on another watch than the one you found, either...

 By: amanico : July 10th, 2017-13:33
I have no other answer than this one for AM. I am still searching, but no, no other explanation nor answer.

Just found in other brands, like in the pictures i show

 By: levelero : July 11th, 2017-00:06
But i will also try to hunt more AM examples. For me, is the only explanation aswell, and by the way, a very good one! ...

I switch on
