SIHH 2017 : Parmigiani Fleurier

Feb 04, 2017,04:43 AM

Hello everyone,

This is special topic about the Parmigiani Fleurier novelties for 2017.

On May 29th 1996, the brand Parmigiani Fleurier is founded. It is born from the trust woven between Michel Parmigiani and the Sandoz Family Foundation who have acknowledged his talent as a watchmaker.

Very soon, the decision to create a perfectly integrated manufacture becomes obvious to master the quality of the components and put into practice Michel Parmigiani’s demanding standards that are so difficult to obtain. Bringing together five entities that were assembled in less than 6 years, Parmigiani Fleurier’s watchmaking hub is an extensive center of know-how that enables to conceive, manufacture and perfect every single watch component. From the smallest gear wheel to the entire escapement (which is the doing of very few watch companies); from the minute details of the dial to the case in its every shape.

Parmigiani Fleurier is on the SIHH since 1998.

Today the brand totals 33 movements manufactured within its watchmaking center. This is more accomplishments in 20 years than certain brands reach in a century. Parmigiani Fleurier is not done creating, surprising and glorifying watchmaking art.

Thank you for your topic and the shots. About the PF 701 movement shown (hope I\'m right!), I would say that I would be very embarrassed if I had to choose between this last one, the 96.01-L from Chopard L.U.C, the Piaget 1208P and the Patek Philippe 240....

Thank you for the precision

I spotted the micro rotor movement on the first picture, it is a SEED VMF 5401/50 movement right?

Not exactly the VMF 5401/50 but its improvement. Indeed VMF is in majority owned by Parmigiani Fleurier

I see what you mean

It is more precisely a VMF 5401 / H,M,S6H, since it only features two hands and a small second. As by improvement you mean the movement has been given vertical Geneva stripes, and the original rotor s been replaced right?

The updated Metrographe...

Is definitely on my radar, great piece, possibly a bit too hot price wise but they corrected a few design errors from the first edition. Steel 1950 Tonda is a great idea, very clean and attractive. Ian

If I have one issue.

It is the size of the sub-dials, possibly a little undersized. But a great watch, very attractive. Ian
