In a perfect world ...

May 27, 2017,11:20 AM

I'd be driving an old 911 ... preferably a red 3,2 with black Fuchs wheels and a G50 gearbox ...

But for now i have to be happy with my friend's '81 3 litre with the stubborn gear changes smile ... the color is not bad and the yellow (French) lights add a special touch.

Perfect to go out and buy some Champagne, or discounted Martini Prosecco in this particular case ....

Take the family along with the dog .....

... and if i really need more space there's always other stuff to choose from smile

Bim

Like the Clio Williams .. but this is an old cup car ... I think the Clio cup is running for over 20 years now. This little red one has a 140 hp 2 liter and probably weighs some 850 kilos. The coolest one is the purple E36 328i racer ... 220 hp, 1100 kilo...

Been thinking about getting a classic recently again. The conditions are anything but ideal but that does not preclude me wanting one

Feel free to :

1. Call me anytime for advice. 2. Call me at night for any advice (not sexually related off course ). héhé 3. come over to Flanders whenever you feel like doing so. 4. Buy a 911 ... but first take a testdrive ... a 964 will be quite fine for you .... a Tu...

Thanks for this, Filip

May take you up on it, actually I guess it will become a more likely proposition once back in Germany - operating cars there is just so much easier / cheaper

In Belgium ..

. operating classic cars is very cheap and easy as well .. but laws are changing now and oldtimers will have to be 30 years old now to take advantage of the cheap running costs like road tax and insurance.

Used to be 25 years in Slovenia as well...

But they raised it to thirty. In some countries there is a fixed cut off date, so basically the cars need to be older each year to apply...

Haha ... i thought i was answering Nicolas ... but ...

... i guess all the above counts for you as well Bim

Thanks - I appreciate it :)

That is a 1981 3 liter 204 hp with a Turbo-look wing ... unfortunately not a Turbo. Did i ever tell you the story the, i was 18 and went to the VAG (VW-AUDI-Porsche) importer to have a look at Volkswagens back in 1987 ? My grandfather joined me and my mum...

I knew Porsche is a great car.....
