AP CEO Francois-Henry Bennahmias was on CNBC tv this past Friday

Dec 18, 2016,11:20 AM

I actually saw Mr. Bennahmias on CNBC when it was aired since I have CNBC on all day when I'm trading.  Most of the times, watch brand CEO interviews are just "fluff" interviews, but this specific interview with Francois was pretty good and full of info.

I highly recommend you guys watch his interview on CNBC here:  http://video.cnbc.com/gallery/?video=3000576969

He gives highlights about AP, the watch industry, and the Royal Oak Concept Supersonnier which was sold to a 28 year old tech guy in the USA.

Cheers,
Anthony

I had high hopes to hear something very honest and revealing but it was mostly safe corporate marketing speak. Do give Mr Bennahmias credit for confirming multiple times that AP makes 40K watches annually and they are not yet a billion dollar company. It ...

They should build a statue to honor Genta

If it wasn't for his RO's design, they'd've been out of business since long time. AP wants to be in the market for the next century? I'm still waiting for and Edwars Piguet's watch; not a whole line, but at least one. Wow, a young tech billionaire has bou...

They follow the mob. Till 2010 nobody took care of either 15202 or 5402, the only successful RO was the off shore; only after the 40th celebration the prices has risen to insane levels, the only meter people use to give credit to a watch. there are plenty...

The first Octo wasn't so succesful, imho.

Much better the last one. However, even RO wasn't successful until the prices start rising (2012): Nautilus led the way

"Nautilus led the way"? "even RO wasn't successful until..."? Really?

Hi, I personally don't care about resale value, even less about what others think about the watch on my wrist, so long as I like it. I am having trouble following your statements (presented as "facts") though - there were long periods (decades) when the N...

Am i the only who experienced this situations?

Let's talk about second hand price. I know your policy but let me try to explain it better. RO 14790 was € 4000 in 2005 RO 15202 was € 7500 in 2008. RO 14802 € 10000 in 2009. Those are facts, they were the prices usually paid for a 15202, perfect condition...

or merely following the dollar signs, I agree without reservation or qualification. My earlier post took issue with your statement (made again above) that RO prices "followed" "rocketed Nautilus" prices. I would argue that Nautilus prices were soft for MA...

You are definitely a forerunner; or a black sheep (it's a praise), depending from the perspective. ;-) Nautilus has always been ahead; sometimes my speech might be misunderstood (always in a hurry, so i need to sum up many thoughts in short sentences). wh...

I think the RO has always been very successful.

It was always a very exclusive piece. By far the best looking Genta design, ever. JerryW

Totally agree. It was the impact of seeing a ROO in the flesh that got me interested in watches in the first place. I think it was on the wrist of some hedge fund guy in 2007! Ha, Bit of a cliche looking back. hardly anyone in finance seems to want to par...

and with all due respect, I do not quite like his style. Imho, he should try to look much more humble and speak more about customer satisfaction and product innovation, rather than saying how great the company is or what the shareholders expect. And certa...
