The social circles I associate with don’t even wear watches, at best an Apple Watch. I’d imagine if I’m a part of social circles where having the latest unique Philippe Dufour or FP Journe or Laurent Ferrier is highly valued, I might cave into peer pressure. But for now, I am ecstatic with my 3. They are sought-after by many and considered icons for a reason—they are beautiful!

The 3 Watches that Sing to Me
By: Art Collector : April 13th, 2023-15:42
After 40 years of watch collecting, I'm happy to have refined my collection to just 3--my Holy Trinity, the 3 watches that sing to me: Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 15500, Rolex Daytona 116520, Rolex Submariner 116610 After re-rationalizing my collection, I'v...
Thank you, Bill!

I picture you a watch brand CEO gathering market intelligence for your future models. I would consider myself a typical watch consumer. My work is in a different industry, so I won't know a hairspring from an escapement, although they do add to the myster...
Wonderful post and journey

Thanks for sharing. Those three beauties are all you could ever need . I too grow weary of watches sitting, not getting the wrist time they deserve. 4 seems to be a good number for me. Although I recently broke that model and added another. It must feel l...

3 or 4 are very similar, I'd say. I had 4 for the past 2yrs and recently decided to consolidate to 3. Enjoy your beauties!

I may have been influenced by some of these posts over the last several months of folks consolidating collections I think my 3 should be a good balance for me--I'll give it a go and keep you all posted! Who knows, I may splurge and expand that to 10, or m...

Yes, to each his/her own Although the sub is perhaps the most 'boring' of my 3, it is the newest to me. I have never owned one before, and am thoroughly enjoying the honeymoon phase. Built like a tank, fine brushing on the steel, the ceramic bezel has an ...

The reasons I chose these 3 specific references: - Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 15500: I love the shorter hour markers set closer to the bezel--gives the dial and overall watch a larger look. I also love the white date with the black background matching the ...

There’s a reason why these 3 are the obvious, popular choices. They are well-designed and well-made!
I'm gonna shake your hand, sir!

The sports trio has been rooting in my collection for quite some time. While some other watches come and go, I'm not seeing myself moving any of them. ...

I think the triumvirate you've established is top-notch - and I wish I had similar discipline. I too have moments in my collecting journey where I want to simplify to an essential collection - but the temptation is too strong for me to resist when new mod...

I think you could be right. As I look at WatchProSite a few times each day, there’s bound to be something that catches my eye in the future. Either way, I plan to post more pics and thoughts. This hobby is too much fun to enjoy alone. Enjoy your collectio...

By: Art Collector : April 14th, 2023-14:20
There is something to be said about advertising/marketing and the influence of celebrities. I won’t deny that part of my tastes have been shaped by what James Bond or that CEO wears. A couple of stories I have on my journey to the Sub: I was once waiting ...

Whatever puts the same big smile on my face - first when I see it, second when I buy it, and third when I wear it - is the watch that wins! While I love my 16202, here's one controversial piece in my collection that meets this criteria for me Cheers Peter...
