Panerai PAM 372 and the PAM 000 "Zero" are excellent choices
Here are two pictures that can help you judge on the same wrist. I like them both but if you have to pick one you need to try them on and see which one fits you best. Two me the both represent the DNA of Panerai so the choice should be easy.

... if you are going to own only one Panerai, the PAM 312 is it. Sure, the 372 is nice but it is also gigantic. The 312 is a 44mm automatic with all in-house manufactured P.9000 movement. The 372 is massive at 47mm's with manual wind and all in-house P.30...
If I could only have 1, then yes my choice would be the PAM372
However, the PAM000 and the PAM372 are 2 totally different watches. At times, you'll feel like you want to wear the larger PAM372 and then somedays you'll miss the smaller PAM000, of which still is a very large watch for most people. I always want to swit...
