I am quite shocked and saddened to see such an angry opinion against Chuck. "Bloody mindedness over the course of a lifetime?" Come on... He doesn't deserve this. To disagree with Chuck or anyone is one thing. We all have the right to our own opinion and to differ from other people. To call a dedicated contributor to the global watch community "a troll" because you don't agree with his views is another thing entirely. I beg you please give the deceased some respect. He is not here to defend himself although I would be interested to see how the two of you would argue this one over.

Your points are valid. I am not saying that they aren't. You do have ground for your logic. But your attitude is somewhat heated where it need not be. The same is true for an earlier post of yours when everyone was slow to respond to your questions and you went out lashing at people who bought and discussed only 50 years old watches from sales corner or something. I thought it best to keep my silence at that time but not this I'm sorry.

Chuck's opinions were made a long time ago and they were true and relevant for that period. Omega seems to have worked out all the glitches associated with this family of movements which is a good thing. If people keep referring to this outdated opinions (myself included I admit), I believe it is because they want to keep potential buyers informed. Chuck has no control over this. Not anymore. So he should not be blamed for his good service to the community at that time. If he was here today and had been updated with more recent facts/results, I am sure he would quickly change his stance on the Cal. 3XXX issue.

You mentioned banning. I don't think any moderator would ban you for discussing the technical matters. Personal attacks against other members may necessitate actions though.

For the record, I have no such prejudice you talked about. A Speedmaster can be or not be a Professional and it wouldn't bother me one bit. Plus I do own Lemania-based Speedmasters and an FP-based Speedmaster so I have as much to gain or lose as you do Pete. I am not protecting Chuck or bashing the movement because I don't own one. And, yes, I am an acquaintance of his. We exchanged correspondence about watches and such over the course of few years before he passed away.

Please forgive me for confronting you on this matter. I really felt it was necessary to say something. Thank you.
