A couple of Reversos

Firstly, the first Reverso I acquired in 1996 - a Classique. I know that these days this size of watch is considered very small for a man’s watch but I particularly wanted my first Reverso to be as near in size to the original 1930s model. I have quite a thin wrist and find it very comfortable to we

The pull of heavy metal

All — i have developed an inexplicable attraction to the platinum Day Date — the traditional 36 mm version with glacier dial. I am resisting this attraction because the watch costs more than a nice car, and it doesn’t have the finishing or horological significance of other watches at its price point

Colors are A'Changing

We talk a lot about colors of our dials and straps here - thus I thought it might be instructive to hear what a paint color expert thinks about the newest car colors. Here are some excerpts from a report in today’s Automotive News: Jane Harrington manages color styling for PPG Industries’ automotive

They said the Deepsea is an over- engineered watch, I do think it is an achievement from Rolex for its 12800 ft water resistance. Some complained about the bracelet and I agree, but it still wears very comfortably on my wrist. And the D-blue dial is always a treat for the eyes. On the other hand, th

New 2018 Polaris Automatique Blue: Not a total fiction.

Those who think that The Polaris Automatique blue is a fiction are not totally wrong, nor totally right. There was a blue Polaris, the E 870. Two crowns, as well, but... The new Polaris automatique is NOT a Memovox anymore, despite its two crowns. The review is in the tube. Best, Nicolas

I’m a NATO virgin...

But I happened to be in Las Vegas and walked into the Omega Boutique. I asked about a black/grey strap. They were great and set me up. It changes the look of watch to be sure!! While the two straps that cane with the original packaging were fine - I just think this black/grey combo is hard to beat.

A blessing in disguise?

I am at Frankfurt airport after having flown here to view a Patek 3969R which I had left a deposit on. Lovely watch which fits my small wrist well but while examining the watch with a loop, I noticed a scratch across the side. I just could not bring myself to purchase the watch even tough it had its
